Playhouse Disney

So I know these posts are out of order, but I'm just trying to catch up. We went to see Playhouse Disney Live! We didn't see the commercial for it until late, so the only tickets left were the most expensive ones, front and center, literally! Mike said it was the most expensive concert he's ever been to. But it was well worth it. Brooks liked it. I think he was a little overwhelmed at first, but warmed up towards the end. We saw Mikey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, and Tigger and Pooh. We hyped up Handy Manny, but we were diappointed b/c he wasn't very good. I think I knew the words to the songs better than he did. And I was surprised to see that Brooks was excited the most about Little Einsteins. Of course, Daddy had to buy him something, so he ended up leaving with cotton candy, a Handy Manny hard hat, and a Handy Manny doll. I thought maybe the Handy Manny would make it to the head of his bed to sleep with him, but jsut like every other stuffed thing he has, he put him at the foot of the bed. The only friends allowed by his head are Bear and Elmo. I think that will be a special day when something else gets to move to the head of the bed! Anyway, we saw the show during his normal nap time, so once we got into the car, it didn't take him long to crash.

SNOW DAY!!!

Who would have thunk it?? Snowing in Baton Rouge! And I don't mean some flurries that don't stick to the ground, I mean a REAL snow! It was beautiful. I looked outside at about 5:00 am and saw it coming down. I figured by the time the sun came up, it would be gone. Boy was I wrong. Brooks and I ended up going outside at about 7:00 or 7:30 and the ground was covered. He didn't like it, which was a little disappointing for me. He did have fun riding his bulldozer on the driveway and pushing the snow. Later in the day he went to Nana's and he played in the snow there. I'll have more pictures of that later. Poor Lucy had to stay inside. It was too cold for her!

Brooks and Bear

Here is Brooks changing Bear's diaper. He lost interest at the end. Sometimes he puts the diaper on Bear.

Thanksgiving

Well, our Thanksgiving was a little unconventional this year. Mike ended up having to work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so instead of going to Mississippi as usual, we stayed home. It was wierd not having the whole family around... Mike and I kept saying it didn't really feel like Thanksgiving, but it was still a good day. We all got to sleep late, YAY!!! Brooks and I also got to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (a Thanksgiving tradition, in my opinion). Mike smoked a turkey and I cooked dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It was a very relaxing day and it gave us a good chance to think about how thankful we were to have our own family to spend time with. Being a "family of 4" is surreal to think about, but it's also amazing that we have come to this point in our lives. I'm so happy and thankful for the boys, and now girl, I have in my life.

Outside Time

Sunday we went to a new park. It was Lucy's first time at a park. She wasn't really impressed. But Brooks had lots of fun! He took a little while warming up to the place, especially with all the big kids running around, but eventually he didn't have any trouble climbing on everything.

I know, I'm a slacker

I know, I know, it's been a long time since I've blogged. I told you I didn't know how this would go! Well, since Halloween, we've been busy. On Election Day, Brooks, Maddox, Ashley, Lucy, and I went to Jump-n-Jive to let the boys have some fun. It was an experience, let me tell you! I think Ashley and I were more worn out than the boys were. We also had a few mishaps while we were there... Ashley got stuck in an obstacle course, Brooks and I knocked heads, Maddox busted his lip, Brooks smashed his finger in the door, and both boys almost got trampled a few times by some big boys running around. Other than that, it was a great trip!!

I've also started back at work since our last blog. Working all day and living with a baby that doesn't sleep through the night is not ideal, but we make it work. I'm extra exausted all the time, but I'm lucky to have Mike, who helps out with the 11 or 12:00 feeding at night. Brooks and Lucy are having fun taking turns staying with Nana and Grandma during the day. Brooks has continued MDO, and still loves it.

We have also all been sick in the past 2 weeks at one time or another. I think we gave a virus to each other. Today when Brooks woke up, he had pink eye! So we got some drops from the doctor. I also had to take Lucy to the doctor today b/c she has been having the foulest, runniest dirty diapers EVER!!! So now, not only do I have to put drops in my 2 year-old's eye, but I have to get a stool sample and bring it to the lab this weekend! I guess that's just the duties of a mom.

Treats, etc.

Last night we went to the annual Treats, etc. at church. Brooks had lots of fun playing games, eating candy, and playing with Maddox. I'm glad he still likes to play with Maddox, even though Maddox DID give him a black eye!! Lucy enjoyed herself too (as far as we could tell). Grandpa was in town, so she was just fine nessled in his arms during all the noise and activity. She even saved him from going to jail!

Learning the important things in life early

Here's just a few things Brooks has learned recently. In case you need a translation, I'll give you a hint: Aunt Ruth Ann is an Auburn fan, Grandpa is an Alabama fan, Brooks is, of course, an LSU fan, and Aunt Val is... well, just listen!

So Big!!

Today we went to see Dr. Wood for Lucy's 8 week check-up. He said she looked great and we make beautiful children! She is now 11 lbs. 1 oz (in the 50th percentile), and 21 in. long (10th percentile). So she's short-she must have some Donnelly and Wilson genes in her! I can't believe she is so big already. These last 8 weeks have gone by so quickly. She also got her first set of shots today. She did not like them at all! She cried hard. It was so sad. I don't remember Brooks crying that much. I think she might be a little more tender-hearted then he is. They gave her some Tylenol to help with achiness and to keep the fever down, so she has been sleeping most of the day!

I'll give it a try

So I'm trying this out. I've read my friends' blogs and have decided this looks like something I can do. I'll try my hardest to keep it updated, but we'll see how long it lasts! So last weekend we went to "Boo at the Zoo" It was crazy busy, but we had fun. Brooks and Lucy both were dressed in their halloween costumes and Brooks loved getting "more candy!"
